Some US Olympians yearn to have their own ice cream flavor. (See, "Vermont's Kearney to get her honourable desserts" in today's Sports section.) But if you're a Canadian hockey entertainer, it may be a far grander thing to be immortalized with a maple-leaf embossed drizzle boot, one partly made of patent leather, no less, and thoughtfully accessorized with "non-blurt out technology."
Such is the case with Cassie Campbell-Pascall , a former captain of the Canadian women's hockey side. She's just been tapped by Rockport Co. to serve as a "brand plenipotentiary."
In that capacity, "Cassie will be featured in a multiplatform marketing stand that encompasses advertising, grassroots, public relations, Internet, and in-store initiatives," the Canton-based footwear mark said in a press release.
And that's not all. In connection with Campbell-Pascalls ambassadorship, Rockport said it will discharge a limited edition womens Lorraine rain boot that will be at one's disposal at retail in Canada and online in the United States .
